Happy Birthday Brandon!

9:46 AM

Today is Brandon's 25th Birthday and I'm so so excited to get to celebrate a forth birthday with him! Birthday's have always been a special thing in my family and I plan to keep up the tradition. They're the one day of the year that's ALL about you and you need to be treated extra special!

I can't believe this is the last birthday where Brandon's going to be focusing on law school things. Literally, every birthday of our relationship, he's been doing something law school related and I can't believe this is the last one! It's exciting and surreal all at the same time.

Last night I spent the evening baking a cake from scratch for the birthday boy (pictures to come). I had decided that I was going to make B's cake this year because it was just more personal. When my brother found out I was planning on not baking it from scratch, he intervened and the aspiring chef in him would not have it. at.all.

We found this delicious recipe from smitten kitchen and it turned out perfect! It took about two and a half hours, but it was so worth it. One day I'm going to take artistic pictures like she does... but I'll also have good cooking tools too. Since we're moving next Friday/Saturday...(ahhh!!), a lot of our stuff is already packed up... this included every.single.thing we needed to make this cake.
mixer - mixing bowls - cooling rack - the list goes on...

I can't wait for dinner tonight, it's going to be delicious!
We're meeting Sara Beth and Fred at 18 Seaboard for dinner before going out downtown. I have a feeling we'll be hitting up Foundation so B can sample some of their numerous different types of bourbon.

This is what I'll be drinking:
Do you think they'd let me take a few to go?

So Happy Birthday to my future husband and the love of my life!
It's been a great three and a half years and four birthdays celebrated together and I can't wait for many more. You are so dear to me (even though you sometimes drive me crazy just for the sake of it) and I'm so blessed to have you in my life. I know you go back and forth about whether you're going to like being 25...but for me, it's getting us one step closer to forever and that's the most important part. Age is just a number after all! And just think, this time next year, we'll only be 6 days away from our wedding!
