Happy Friday!

10:50 AM

Yesterday was a great day for our little family of two. After a year of looking for a job that he would really love, Brandon accepted an offer for what I can only describe as his dream job! He is the newest associate at an education law firm in downtown Raleigh. I am so proud of my husband. He is seriously the hardest working person I've ever met and he deserves this. We're both so blessed for him to get this job, but I also think that the firm is blessed to have someone like him on their side.

With this new job, Brandon will have to wear a suit to work every day, and luckily he already has some suits that will work. He has one Brooks Brothers suit that looks amazing on him and it's just hard to compare that one to his other Men's Warehouse suits. The overall cut on the BB is just so much better. Men and pleated pants really just don't mix (at least on Brandon). We're going to take his MW suits to the tailor this weekend to get them a bit more tailored, but I definitely think we'll be investing in some more BB suits the next time their semi-annual sale rolls around.

Here are some of Brandon's staples for a great office look:

Brooks Brothers Fitzgerald Saxxon Narrow Stripe 1818 Suite
We both prefer the Fitzgerald cut to all the other styles Brooks Brothers' has to offer. The Fitzgerald is inspired by JFK and "is distinguished by narrow lapels and a shorter jacket with slim-fitting trousers." The pants also don't have pleats and are finished without a cuff. This is also the same cut/style of his tuxedo. It's definitely a pricier suit which is why we don't buy them unless their on sale.

High Cotton Ties red and navy tartan bow tie
High Cotton Ties are great and their fall bows are perfect for the office.

Brooks Brothers also has a great collection of silk bows for a more traditional look.

Another great thing about Brooks Brothers is that they offer a corporate card that gives you 15% off all non-sale purchases and is even good at the outlet! We're definitely headed there this weekend to stock up on some more white non-iron slim fit button downs. Whoever invented the technology for a non-iron shirt is a genius. It's wonderful being able to pull Brandon's shirts out of the dryer, hang them up, and them be ready to wear. I don't know about you, but I have zero patience for ironing.

Johnston & Murphy Newell Cap Toe
Brandon loves these J&M shoes. They not only look great, but are comfortable too. They're also one of the few pairs of lace up shoes I actually like.

  1. Woo hoo yay for new jobs! We always buy andrews suits during big sales since he has to have alot when he goes on conferences but doesn't wear them to work on a daily basis. He is so tall and thing its hard to find suits that fit him so we end up spending a pretty penny
