Weekend Recap

8:00 AM

What a weekend! We were so busy this weekend, but we had such a fabulous time. The weather was absolutely perfect and we got to do so many fun things. Friday night we took it easy since we had a hectic few days ahead of us, but that watermelon jalapeno margarita did no disappoint.

We started the day off with a walk and Brandon had to get in a mint julep in honor of the Kentucky Derby. We were so busy that we completely forgot to watch the race!

Saturday was my step grandma's surprise 75th birthday party! It was a lot of fun to get to celebrate her and she was so surprised. It was fun to get to meet more of Dale's family that we hadn't met before. She is one loved lady and people came from all over to help celebrate her special day.

Our bourbon bar lived to see another day!

Dale's cousin was there from Charlotte (looove her!) and she just had this sweet baby girl. We have much more experience with boy babies, but this little girl was just the sweetest. Oh my goodness, is there anything better than seeing your husband hold a baby? I'm pretty sure it only gets better when it's your own child.

Saturday night we were lucky enough to have VIP tickets from work to the Band Together Hall and Oates Concert. It was so much fun and we ran into lots of friends we hadn't seen in a while. Band Together is such a great cause and I hope it's something we can go to every year.

Sunday I was Meredith's assistant for her sister-in-law's engagement party. Y'all will have to keep an eye out on Meredith's blog for her recap posts on this party. It was i.n.c.r.e.d.i.b.l.e. Everyone kept telling her if the whole Ph.D. thing didn't work out, she could always be an event planner (Yes, she's this good at throwing parties and is about to get her doctorate in biomedical engineering from Duke!)

Can y'all get over these peonies?! Just to give you a little scale - this is one of the liter size mason jars!
