We're Moved!

3:26 PM

...and I'm exhausted. We have gotten settled in pretty quickly and only have one room that is still in disarray plus nothing is hung on the walls. We painted on the 31st and 1st, rented a UHaul and got everything into the new house on the 2nd and spent the rest of the past weekend getting unpacked and organized. We still have to get the food out of the fridge at the old house and clean it before our final walk through on Thursday.

More space definitely leads to us needing more furniture, but we are happy to slowly gather pieces (and find deals) over time instead of rushing out and making impulse purchases on non-quality items. The new house feels like it's double the size of the old one. We definitely have double the counter space in the kitchen, we went from one bathroom to 2 1/2 and have an additional bedroom. The living space is also much larger and open into the dining area which will be ideal for entertaining down the road. This house is the perfect situation for us as we work to pay off Brandon's student loans and we are excited about all the things that will happen while we are here.

In a week, we went from this:

To this:

We've ordered a rug for the living room to anchor the space and warm it up a little bit. I can't wait for it to get here! To the left is a large, open dining area that also leads back into the kitchen. I'm excited to start the search for a real dining room table and chairs. I found a great deal on Craigslist yesterday and almost made an impulse buy, but decided to be patient and wait until we can find exactly what we want.

I'm also loving the carport! No more scraping my windows in the morning! And don't worry -- a North Carolina flag has definitely been hung up since this photo to make it officially home.
